Tutorial 9 is one of the most successful examples of web entrepreneurship in the design industry. It has grown in less than two years to become THE place to go for designers and artists to find free tutorials and resources, This marvelous site is just one of the many profitable projects run by under 21, self taught blogger from Atlanta David Leggett. Many of us couldn’t even tie our shoelaces properly at 21, but this guy already has one of the most respected design forums in the web, and has been featured in tons of interviews and “best of” lists. He became interested in computers at age 10, when his parent gave him Adobe Pagemill as a gift. (I had a Chewbacca at 10. No wonder.) Who would have thought that was the beginning of one of the most rocket rising, fast paced careers in blogging history. Well, I now “blogging history” is less than 10 years old, but, you get the point.

Iconshock interview: Css mastermind and sushi addict Jina Bolton
Jina is a must reference for all of you working in web design & development. Her opinions on CSS are one of the most respected in the designer community, being a frequent speaker in the web developer’s conference circuit and being a consultant for the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative. That is big stuff for a lady so cute my friends! The W3C as you might know, is nothing more than the World Wide Web consortium, the international organization that develops all web standards. So if this girl has something to say you better listen!
Iconshock Interview: User Interface guru Andrew Maier
In the broadest of senses, an interface is the conjunction of means with which we can interact with any system, be that a complex shampoo dispenser, a brand new Macintosh or a cellphone. And this week’s guest is one of the rising stars in the field of user interface development in the world. Imagine him as a Joss Stone of UX design, (If we placed ourselves 6 years ago that is.) What most impressed me about Andrew when we met him was his wide range of interests beyond computing, like photography and music. This is a guy that has so much talent inside that it flows throughout his many different passions.
He is very well known for his web site UXBooth, where he and his pals reviewed submitted websites in a scale form 1 to 5 from their user experience. He was featured earlier this year as one of the 10 User interface Rockstars by “fuel your interface”.
A big fish indeed. So ladies and gentlemen, with no further ado, here it is: Andrew Maier.

Iconshock Interview: Web Designer Sneh Roy
She blogs, she cooks, she drinks coffee. Here it is, the one the only; Sneh Roy! Sneh is the brains, eyes and fingers behind the website “Little Box of Ideas” which is steadily rising into one of the most popular design blogs in the whole net. She offers at her site very high quality freebies and has featured interviews with relevant personalities of the design world as logo Guru Jacob Cass and illustrator Von Glitschka. She is also behind the curtain of the fabulous cooking blog “Gel’s Kitchen” and the famous “Stars we love“ celebrity site. Her vibrant and contemporary style are real hooks at first. But either as a client or a as a friend, what really keeps you hanging to her is her warmth and honesty.
We meet tons of people in the course of a lifetime. And if you really think about it, it is rare if someone leaves and impression that lasts more than an hour. Don’t take me wrong here, I don’t want to sound like I’m papa scrooge, it’s just something I believe is worth giving it a thought. The point I’m trying to make with all this babbling, is that I really wish half the people I meet daily made such an impression on me as Sneh. And I know many of you readers will be touched by her kind vibe too. A Special person indeed, and a real pleasure to interview.
Iconshock interview: Hongkiat Lim
Surely, if you are a designer you know who this guy is. Hongkiat.com has become a home away from home for millions of designers and artists looking for top quality tutorials and resources. His work has been a constant inspiration for web entrepreneurs and his story has been featured in countless articles around the blogosphere. Developersnippets, Creativenerds, Bloggingtips and many more have listed Hongkiat among the best websites in the web. As busy as he might be, it surprised me that he was very kind and accessible, always eager to answer our questions and help us out. This is the guy every blogger wants to be; Constant, dedicated and talented. Another big net celebrity featured by Iconshock so our dear readers can get inspired. Dreams can be made one blog at the time and Hongkiat Lim is a real example.
