International holidays
Last day of the year. First day of new purposes and promises. Everyone has a own special ritual for today, and every society has different beliefs and ways to celebrate the end of a cycle and the birth of a new one. Sometimes it seems to me that life is an eternal on/off switch of habits. My new year’s eve promise for this year is to get up two hours earlier. What’s yours? Anyway, silly philosophy aside, your favorite blogger wishes you a happy new year full of hope and love. This set includes six very detailed icons with a glossy finish. Enjoy!

A couple of months ago, one of our faithful readers asked us to make a series of icons designed specifically for programmers, since we have made all kinds of stuff for designers and artists… Well, here they are, Iconshock’s original series of developer icons. Free web icons: Japanese New year
Japan used to celebrate their new year based on the Chinese lunar calendar. But since the late nineteenth century, (1873) they switched to the gregorian calendar, like most of the world. Despite the shift of dates, they continued using their ancestral symbols and customs. Check out how these customs are depicted with extraordinary detail in these icons by S_heaven. Christmas
Apart from the actual religious belief behind the meaning of Christmas, this season is a reminder that we humans are made from the very same essence, and we all occupy the same planet. Be it Jewish, Muslims, Mayans or whatever, there is no reason to perpetuate intolerance and bitterness. We are in the end, just one.
