I’m going to buy my first iphone this week, and am pretty anxious to join the club at last. Well, not that I’ve ever wanted to join the club or like clubs anyway. It’s just that I couldn’t resist that naughty, minimal, little gadget that’s driving everyone crazy. I began researching, and found this very useful list of apps at Macappstorm. What I like the most about this list made by David Appleyard, is that it features the iphone apps with the most exciting interfaces around.
I have to say that what drove me to buy the iphone wasn’t its hype nor it’s tempting fashionable appeal. What really turned my bucks towards it were the possibilities that such a new and evolving technology could offer. Iphone development is kind of a loose Ferrari with no brakes, a real mainstay on portable software and interfaces. A darling too young and growing to fast to ignore.
Besides, it has a 16 Gig mp3 player. How can you beat that?

there are lots of apps out there, G… enjoy them, and enjoy the new phone, for sure! The 2nd generation iPhone is supposed to be sweeeeet!
i just got a samsung ommia a few weeks ago, as my company’s ISP does not support blackberry, and i did not want to switch cell phone companies after 16 years, just to get the iphone. the two most important things to me were the ability to get both work and personal e-mail delivered to the smartphone, and to have the phone work with the bluetooth in my car. the omnia has so many other features i have not yet tried, like an FM radio and MP3 player, with almost unlimited memory if you use a micro SD card (removeable).

Having Micro SD cards is a great advantage of the Omnia. That is a hell of a kick ass mobile with 5 megapixel cam and many goodies. Do you have it with Windows mobile or with Android? I personally think the Samsung is a better phone overall, if you think of price vs benefit. I’m buying the iphone because of a bargain, and because I’m interested in it from a programmers point of view.

You should look into the new 3G S version with 32 GB of storage and better battery life. I traded up and have not looked back since. I am also using 5 of those apps listed on my phone right now. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I am.
