Virgin Galactic is a company part of the “Virgin Group” owned by billionaire Richard Branson (yes, the same people from the extinct Virgin Records) that plans to offer sub orbital flights to paying public. Past Monday, they have exposed the first shots of their craft, the space ship two. They say this first commercial space ship has a crew of 2 and capacity for 6 passengers. The whole flight is supposed to last two hours, including 6 minutes of zero gravity experience, and it will cost of around $200.000 dollars. The surprising thing is that they have already collected almost 30 million bucks in reservations. Some famous commercial astronauts are Sigourney Weaver, William Shatner, Paris Hilton, Dave Navarro and Moby. Just imagine that bunch in space!I really hope Sigourney kicks Paris’s ass while in zero gravity, that would be a spectacle to watch! Could I redeem my frequent flyer miles for this?

I am with you on that one G, lets see if we can redeem our Air Miles® to book a flight / seat! If your air carrier is like everyone else’s than we will be lucky enough to earn enough points to ride as luggage / baggage / freight. Come to think of it do they have a peak season? Hmm…
We can only dream that Paris Hilton will be on the same flight as Sigourney Weaver. After all remember the quote “In space no one can hear you scream” and after she has to spend more than 15 minutes with that superficial woman I bet she would certainly give it a shot even with the difference in age.

I believe that Kirk would definitely have the advantage since William Shatner has already experienced the effects of 0 G on the NASA “Weightless Wonder” or “Vomit Comet” as it is better known. Plus he has more than his fair share of contacts at NASA. Who better than them to provide a person with a leg up on the competition.

I doubt that Paris would even be able to make it as far being able to experience the effects of 0 G environment. The only thing I would worry about is that Sigourney just might start some sort of trend and we could possibly see more annoying people making a one way trip! Perhaps a discount on the fare? You know if something is up depending where you are seated or how much you were charged.
That is just really funny that a adult production company has already tried to throw their hat into the ring and arrange some flight time. Well it is not at all surprising considering how much money they have to invest. I recall reading an article on a website called “The Straight Dope” a few years back on the subject.
