Design 101 for programmers

This is one of the best articles I’ve linked on the Iconshock Blog so far. William Schleifer talks about the inherent responsibilities programmers have in design and user experience, and talks about the necessity for designers and coders to build a common ground to work with.

Overconfident designers and witty coders don’t have to be separated as if they were from different planets anymore. After all, both go to work with Spiderman t-shirts and speak Klingon.

  1. the only design instruction i really need is in sewwing curtains. The kind with the weird metal clips in them attached to the pull string system. Ya. Those weird lined pockets r difficult to figure out let alone sew. Forget the clips! However maybe swifty or gswd would enjoy the article.

  2. Many times programmers unknowledge that knowing a bit of design could imporve athe work trmendously. I whish my boss could see these slides.
